The ROCK is a San Luis Obispo County, California-based news publication that is looking to expand our reach in the community. With your help, we can achieve a lot. In return, we will help you succeed. We are seeking to hire local interns who are writers, bloggers, social media and web development virtuosos.

Our mission at The ROCK is to provide news and resources on a fun, accessible platform. This platform would connect issues, people, events, and other happenings to all communities in San Luis Obispo County: Cambria, Morro Bay, Cayucos, Los Osos, San Luis Obispo, Avila Beach, Arroyo Grande, Grover Beach, Oceano, Pismo Beach, Shell Beach, Nipomo, Paso Robles, Templeton and Atascadero. Stories include the following: news, business, art/culture, dining, entertainment, politics, media, op-ed columns, lifestyle and influential people.

Writers will spend each day investigating, researching things that personally interest them, proposing ideas to The ROCK editorial team, and writing quality articles. Candidates should also have a writing style that is clear, concise and positive. They need to also be HTML-savvy, passionate, organized, detail-oriented and have a good sense of humor. Basic experience in Adobe Photoshop is a plus. We require that writers are dedicated to promoting their local communities. Positions are currently available.
