I’m Not a Hydrogeologist, But…

Keith Wimer of the Los Osos Sustainability Group is looking to hire a hydrogeologist to assess the saltwater intrusion dilemma. The LOSG is asking for donations. For more information, click here to e-mail Keith.

“I know everyone is digging deep these days just trying to keep up so every dollar will be appreciated.  If this comes together, it may make the difference between having a credible counter opinion to Cleath (if that’s indeed the result of an independent analysis) and just having the Cleath doctrine stand unopposed,” says LOSG member Elaine Watson.

I’m not a hydrogeologist, but I think this is a good opportunity to set the record straight.

Hire another hydrogist?…..and what exactly is wrong witht the professsinal reports from the CSD’s present hydrogist (Mr. Cleath); who has by the way has been studying the Los Osos aquifers for over 20 years. Cleath knows far more than any human alive over the structure and quality of our aquifer. What exactly does Wimer think he will gain (or help the project) by interjecting a hydrogist into the fra

I can’t speak for Keith, but I wouldn’t imagine that he would see anything wrong with Cleath & Associates reports on SWI. After all, Wimer has been using data from those reports in all of his presentations to the County BOS and Planning Commission.

It doesn’t hurt to have a second opinion.

I am not a hydrologist. Nor am I a proctologist. Yet I feel Los Osos is going to need one once the county excepts this project because Los Osos is going to have to take up the old wazoo when the true cost of this project is revealed.

Hi Dave, Remember me describing a Much older project as not so much a pill but a suppository? ah the good old days when the future was so much clearer and we (the much larger “We”) had no problems borrowing liberally from each other (cepting the frequent times people simultaneously came to the same identical thought, and the same phraseology). Sup’s meeting could had used some of your wisdom.
I’m pretty sure, (nod from county staff in personal comment) re this; may be in somewhere in the BOS-Staff Dialogue-The cost of 5.2 Miles of fused/sealed pipe in High groundwater, not yet rolled in to cost. And I may have one of these fake memory traces of Mr. Ogren?, with something about expected overruns and within current budget but may had been about something else too.
Haven’t watched it over yet. anyway, like the last example in the Credit card Commercials-
A Sewer that solves ALL of Los Osos problems?-Priceless
