I am proud to announce the newly redesigned rockofthecoast.com site. For a newspaper that appeals to a town of 15,000 people, we have come a long way. For the past couple of months, the site has generated more than 1,500 hits a day from people who are interested in what’s happening in Los Osos. While Los Osos is an environmentally desirable place to live, its controversies intrigue those both inside and outside the community. Many community leaders have stepped up to educate and enlighten those who are interested, those who are proud, and those who are suffering from the sewer crisis.
The site has been redesigned as a symbolic move towards change. We are going to venture to much broader issues that affect the Central Coast and we wanted to make sure that everyone is informed about each step that we take.
Here are some new features that have been added:
- Top of the Rock blog–Opinions and viewpoints expressed by staff members of The ROCK will be posted here. Additionally, members and non-members can post comments to the blogs posted.
- Message Board–Members can participate in moderated community discussions where your voice will always be heard and protected. All opinions and viewpoints are allowed since we are strong advocates of freedom of speech. Members can post threads, reply and contribute to the forums.
- Slick and easily accessible new interface–Content is now much easier to access with our newly redesigned main site. You can track the popularity of each article as well as provide your comments and information. Who knows? Your comments may even be published by The ROCK! We value community input and in accordance to our core values, we’ve expanded our outlets for viewpoints.
So sit back, relax, and keep on rockin’.
